This piece came about when I was thinking about someone I know and how things between us have changed. It started life as a sort of poem then turned into some sort of rap (don't ask!!!)
I finally saw who you were, everything changed
When on your eighth engagement you'd arranged
I tore away fifteen years of layers
Peeled it all back - took out the players
I never really wanted to see
It showed as much of you as it did me.
Not liking what I saw
I stepped back - which you chose to ignore
You've now got another ring, yet I'm alone
Nice enough bloke, but just another clone
But you won't come near 'cos you've got your life
Till number eight won't make you his wife
